This book contains what Mumford had then intended to be Volume II. It covers the material in the "Red Book" in more depth with several more topics added. The notes have been brought to the present form in collaboration with T. Oda. The book is a sequel to Algebraic Geometry I Algebraic Geometry II I gave an introductory course in algebraic geometry many times during the 60’s and 70’s while I was teaching at Harvard. Initially notes to the course were mimeographed and bound and sold by the Harvard math department with a red cover. These old notes were picked This draft covered the material in the Red Book

This two volume work on Positivity in Algebraic Geometry contains a contemporary account of a body of work in complex algebraic geometry loosely centered around the theme of positivity. This is the second part of the 2-volume textbook Geometry which provides a very readable and lively presentation of large parts of geometry in the classical attractive characteristic of the book is that it appeals systematically to the reader's intuition and vision, and illustrates › Mathematics › Geometry & Topology.

The book concludes with the example of cycles on abelian varieties, where some results of Bloch and Beauville, for example, are expounded. The text is complemented by exercises giving useful results in complex algebraic geometry.

It will be welcomed by The book is an English adaptation of a classical Russian grade school-level text in solid Euclidean geometry. It contains the chapters Lines and Planes, Polyhedra, Round Solids, which include the traditional material about dihedral and polyhedral angles, Platonic solids, symmetry and similarity of space figures, volumes and surface areas of prisms, pyramids, cylinders, cones and :// Guide to Book II The subject matter of Book II is usually called "geometric algebra." The first ten propositions of Book II can be easily interpreted in modern algebraic notation.

Of course, in doing so the geometric flavor of the propositions is lost. They are most accessible to our geometric intuition, making it possible to develop elementary geometry in a way very similar to that This is the second part of the 2-volume textbook Geometry which provides a very readable and lively presentation of large parts of geometry in the classical sense.
